A Bollywood film based rhythem cycle. This is one of simplest and basic rhythms to learn.

Martillo (often referred to as ‘calypso’)
Martillo is the common played rhythm for chutney songs. This is the very basic of that rhythm. Often dholak players use many variations to this cycle.
HINT: Practice slow first but steadily up the tempo to about 155/160 BPM. If you control between slow and the high BPM you will no problem playing this rhythm.

Daadra
A 6 count rhythm for songs with a dadra beat. This also is the basic rhythm on wich many dholak players variate with.
The hint mentioned above goes for the daadra too.
